Food Of Mumbai

Mumbai is a hotpot of cultures. Owing to its location & being the financial capital of India since pre-independence, Mumbai has a medley of cuisines that are now eaten all over the world.

The Irani cafes are known for their kheema pav, bun maska and chai combinations. Who can forget the Goanese population which brought with them vindaloo, balchao and bebinca to Mumbai!

Pav bhaji is one such food item. A quick, easy, spicy dish that is bound to be a crowd pleaser, is made in most homes across India. Mumbai is also known for its pani puri or golgappa (various names in different languages).

Pav bhaji is a dish which is a spicy vegetable curry served with a soft bread roll called pav and can be made for a big crowd or for one person. It is nutritious, healthy and above all it is vegan (if you skip the butter!). A great accompaniment for pav bhaji is a green chutney, which is tangy, spicy and tasty! You will find an easy pav bhaji recipe that is written down below.
