  • Water: 2 cups

  • Sugar: 2 tablespoons (adjust to taste)
  • Ginger: 1-inch piece, grated
  • Green cardamom pods: 2-3, crushed
  • Cloves: 2-3
  • Cinnamon stick: 1 small piece
  • Black peppercorns: 2-3
  • Fennel seeds (optional): 1/2 teaspoon
  • Star anise (optional): 1 piece


  1. Boil the Spices:
    • In a saucepan, add 2 cups of water.
    • Add grated ginger, crushed cardamom pods, cloves, cinnamon sticks, black peppercorns, fennel seeds, and star anise.
    • Bring the water to a boil and let it simmer for about 5 minutes to allow the spices to release their flavors.
  1. Add Tea:
    • Add the tea leaves or tea bags to the boiling water and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  1. Add Milk and Sugar:
    • Add 1 cup of milk to the mixture.
    • Add sugar to taste and stir well.
    • Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  1. Strain and Serve:
    • Remove the saucepan from the heat and strain the tea into cups using a fine mesh strainer.

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a saucepan over medium flame.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of besan and roast until golden brown and fragrant. Stir continuously.
  1. Add Milk:
  • Gradually add 2 cups of milk, stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
  1. Add Sweetener and Spices:
  • Add 2 tablespoons of sugar or jaggery, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom powder. Mix well.
  1. Simmer and Cook:
  • Simmer on low flame for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  1. Add Nuts and Saffron (Optional):
  • Add chopped almonds, cashews, and saffron strands if using.
