Spread the love

Are you looking for a healthy snacking option that is also tasty? Do you have a slightly sweet tooth that would swoon at the thought of freshness, crunch, and lots of health? Then this Yogurt Granola Bowl Recipe is something you might truly enjoy.

This easy-to-assemble dish isn’t just a great pre-workout meal, it is a yummy, guilt-free dessert.

Dessert or a Pre-workout snack: The Yogurt Granola Bowl Recipe

Nutritional information about the Yogurt Granola Parfait

Packing anywhere between 200-350 calories (based on the quantity and ingredients), this guilt-free pre-workout meal will deliver nearly 10g of protein, 30-40g of carbs, 7-10g of fats, and almost 15g of Fibre.

This recipe mostly uses clean ingredients that are full of nutrients, whole and unrefined, and not full of empty calories.

Ingredients

80-100g of Greek Yogurt:

You can either purchase flavoured greek or fruit yogurt from the shelf or use plain dahi or yoghurt as well if you want to avoid the added sugar. Alternatively, you can strain the regular curd to create your own greek yoghurt at home and mix it with fruit.

2 tbsp of an assorted, unsalted trail mix

You can purchase or create a trail mix consisting of roasted flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, melon seeds, sunflower seeds, and sesame seeds.

A handful of assorted nuts:

Our recommendation is that you go with almonds, walnuts, unsalted roasted cashews etc. You can either crush or slice them or add them whole based on your preferred style of garnishing.

¼ cup or more of your preferred brand of Muesli or Granola

: As far as the granola is concerned, you can either make your own or buy it off of the shelf.

1 cup of your favourite fruits, chopped

Our recommendations of the fruits that go best with the Yogurt Granola Parfait are kiwi, apples, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, mango, pomegranate seeds and cranberries.

Garnish – 5-6 leaves of mint & dried fruits

Fresh mint leaves will add a perfect cooling flavour to the whole mix. You might think that the mint leaf doesn’t belong in the dish and may not be that essential to it. But take our word for it – try the recipe with and without the mint leaves, and you’ll know the difference yourself.

You can also add some chopped dried fruits like apricots, figs, berries etc to top this Yogurt Granola Bowl recipe. If you really want to take it a notch further, you can add and mix a dollop of peanut butter to enhance the taste.

You can buy all of these ingredients online from the Milkbasket grocery shopping app. Once you download the Milkbasket app and start shopping, you’ll find different types of options from a variety of brands and producers.

Yogurt Granowla Bowl Recipe

  • Take a bowl or a jar, or a glass, whichever is your preferred dish for enjoying it.
  • Lay a bed of granola at the base of the bowl
  • Layer the bed with the smear of your Greek Yogurt
  • Add Chopped fruits on top of the two layers
  • Sprinkle the trail mix seeds on the top along with the nuts & dried fruits.
  • You can also add a few drops of peanut butter to add to the taste and increase the nutritional value of your parfait
  • Add just a teaspoonful drizzle of honey, if you’d like, on the top for added taste and sweetness
  • Garnish with a few mint sprigs.

Now, the recipe above makes for one layer of the parfait. You can add as many layers on top as you want basing on your hunger and nutritional needs. Even the layers don’t have to be in a specific order according to the recipe above!

We really hope you enjoy this healthy snack/dessert. If you have your own recipe ideas for a parfait, share with us in the comments or tag us in your stories on Instagram!
