Holy Moly Guacamole Toasties: Easy Guacamole Dip Recipe

Spread the love

We know what we love best about Guacamole, right? It’s pasty, fresh, crunchy, sour and salty, all at the same time. Paired with the right corn chip tortilla, or spread on a thin crispy toast, it makes for a perfect snack. So, here’s an easy guacamole dip recipe that is satisfying to make and tastes a hell lot better than most store-bought ones.

What you need to make guacamole dip at home

It’s pretty simple, really.

Here’s something important about the avocados you’re going to use for this guac recipe. You want your avocados ripened to a certain degree. Otherwise, your guac ends up tasting bitter, and you sure don’t like that sometime-bitterness in a guac.

Basically, they should look a  little purplish or reddish before you want to use them for the recipe. Check the reference picture above for the colour of the avocado peel. If you’ve bought the ones that are still a bit young and dark green, give them a nice, cosy, safe haven in your kitchen. Basically, leave them on the dining table for a couple of days to let them ripen a little more, so they’ll taste perfect.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 onion
  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • Cilantro or coriander
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 2 small lemons

Putting it all together

  1. There’s a very easy way to cut and de-seed your avocados. Check out this reference video:
  1. Mash it all together in a bowl till it’s a pasty consistency.
  2. Add finely chopped onions & tomatoes and a handful of chopped cilantro leaves
  3. Add ½ a teaspoon of black pepper and salt each
  4. Squeeze two lemons on top and mix it all together.
  5. If you like, you could sprinkle some pizza seasoning on top too
  6. Your guac is ready! Now slice your bread into thin slices and toast them to a crisp of your liking. Since your guac is going to be a bit moist and will make your bread soggy, the crispier your toast, the better!

Well, that’s pretty much it. Try it and tell us how you like it! If you wanna make a hummus dip along with it, try this easy hummus recipe and its easy variants! And remember, if you’re looking to get the ingredients at home easily, just order them on the Milkbasket app!
