1 Minute Games For Your Kids This Summer Vacation

Summer vacations are synonymous with mangoes, grandparents ka ghar & games. Not always can you step out & play, so what do you do in these times?! How about these games where you can not only enjoy it indoors, but you also spend some quality time with your family & friends. To make it more fun you can invite your friends over, because the more the merrier.

For these games you do not need a lot of things, some straws, cups, balloons, pens & things easily available on Milkbasket, a grocery delivery app that will do a silent doorstep delivery by 7 AM. These are the games that you can play in under a minute & enjoy your summer vacations. Match The Shapes

In this game you will need:

  • Coloured paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Chart paper

Procedure:

  1. Cut out different shapes in different sizes.
  2. Draw those same shapes, in those sizes on the chart paper
  3. Ask your child to match & stick the shapes in their respective sizes.

Guess The Paint

In this game you will need:

  • Paints
  • Brushes
  • Papers
  • Scissors
  • Pen
  • Chart paper/paper
  • Glue

Procedure:

  1. Draw squares on the chart paper/paper & paint them different colours.
  2. On a separate piece of paper write down the names of the different colours & cut them into squares.
  3. Ask the children to match the name of the colours to the squares.

Post It!

One of the most loved 1 minute games, where the children have to stick as many post-it papers on their team member, without having it falling down! Of course the most number of post-its wins!

In this game you will need:

  • Post-it notes
  • A team of two kids

Procedure:

  1. Set a timer for 1 minute on your phone.
  2. Ask the children to stick as many post-it notes on their team member without having the notes fall down.

Put It In The Bucket

A game where you will have the children use straws to create a suction on ping pong balls & pick them up to put it in a small bucket or glass.

In this game you will need:

  • Ping pong balls
  • Straws
  • Small boxes

Procedure:

  1. Empty the ping pong balls into a small box.
  2. Hand a straw to the child.
  3. Ask them to pick up the ping pong balls from one box & transfer it to the other.

Blow It Away

Indulge in another exciting & enjoyable 1 minute game using straws & ping pong balls, adding to the collection of thrilling 1 minute games!

In this game you will need:

  • Ping pong balls
  • Straws
  • A long table
  • Decorative tape

Procedure:

  1. Mark a start & finish line with decorative tape
  2. Put the ping pong balls on the start line & hand a straw to your child.
  3. Set a timer for 1 minute on your phone & ask your child to blow the ping pong balls to the finish line.

Tip: To make it fun, you can also make a race track using cardboard box, markers & some strips of thick cardboard to mark out a racetrack path.

Drop It In A Cup

Yes ping pong balls yet again! 

In this game you will need:

  • Chair
  • Plastic cups/mugs
  • Ping pong balls

Procedure:

  1. Hand your child the ping pong balls.
  2. Ask them to stand on the chair & in a minute they need to put 3 ping pong balls into the cup/mug

Tip: To make it more challenging you can give them only 5-6 balls & have them use only those balls over & 

Balloon Pop

Pop goes the balloon! A game where kids squeal with excitement & at the same time get tired, indoors, it’s a great win!

In this game you will need:

  • A lot of balloons
  • Fork or a butter knife
  • Flattened cardboard box
  • Double sided tape

Procedure:

  1. Blow up the balloons & stick them on the flattened cardboard with double sided tape.
  2. Set a timer for 1 minute on your phone.
  3. Ask the child to use a fork or a knife to burst as many balloons as they can in a minute.

Tip: You can add two different coloured balloons & ask the children to burst only one colour.

Nose Dive

A game where you literally just need petroleum jelly & cotton balls! Fun, giggles & laughter is what you shall get in return.

In this game you will need:

  • Cotton balls
  • Petroleum jelly
  • Bowls
  • A long table

Procedure:

  1. In one bowl add all the cotton balls.
  2. Set another empty bowl on the other end of the table.
  3. Set the timer on your phone for 1 minute.
  4. Apply petroleum jelly on the child’s nose & ask them to pick up the cotton balls & transport it to the empty bowl.
  5. Most number of cotton balls wins!
