Masoor Dal Sprouts Curry

Ingredients:

  • 100g (1 cup) masoor dal sprouts
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, finely chopped
  • 5g (1 tsp) ginger-garlic paste
  • 5g (1 tsp) turmeric powder
  • 5g (1 tsp) cumin powder
  • 5g (1 tsp) coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Take a pan, heat the oil, and sauté onions until golden brown.
  2. Once done, add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt, and cook until soft.
  4. Add masoor dal sprouts and enough water to cover them.
  5. Cover with a lid and cook until the sprouts are soft and tender.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.

Chana Dal Sprouts Stir-fry

Ingredients:

  • 100g (1 cup) chana dal sprouts
  • 1 small bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 small carrot, thinly sliced
  • 60g (½ cup) green peas
  • 5g (1 tsp) cumin seeds
  • 5g (1 tsp) mustard seeds
  • 2.5g (½ tsp) turmeric powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Take a pan, heat oil, add cumin seeds, and mustard seeds, and let them splutter.
  2. Slice bell pepper, carrot, and green peas and add them. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.

  • 60g (½ cup) mixed dal sprouts (moong dal, masoor dal, chana dal)

  • 50g (1 small) tomato, finely chopped
  • 5g (1 tsp) ginger-garlic paste
  • 1g (½ tsp) cumin seeds
  • 1g (½ tsp) garam masala powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Take a pan, heat oil, add cumin seeds, and let them splutter.
  2. Now add finely chopped onions; sauté until translucent.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste to the translucent onions.
  4. Once it is mixed, add chopped tomatoes, garam masala powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Cook until tomatoes are soft.
  6. Add chana, masoor, moong dal sprouts, and water to cover them.
  7. Cover with a lid and simmer on low heat until sprouts are tender.
