Parent’s day is an opportunity to celebrate the cumulative efforts of people coming together to bring up a child. This day is to honor and remember the contribution of our parents into our lives. Parent’s Day is celebrated on the 4th Sunday of July, every year. This year it is being celebrated on July 24, 2022. This day is not just for fathers & mothers, this day celebrates all who’ve played a parental role in someone’s life. Anyone who has been your guardian and dedicated themselves into a parental role and advisory into our lives.
When we really sit and think about our lives this thought often strikes that where would we be without our parents? The people who loved us even before we were born? Moreover, they do a lot for us on a daily basis in our younger age and the love doesn’t stop once we’re adults. Their contribution in our lives starts from the smallest to the biggest gestures possible. They form our initial base of ethics, values and morals that we carry into our adult lives with us. Hence, their importance into our lives is not only invaluable but also imperative from our growth. That’s why it’s good to acknowledge them on their special day of Parents’ Day Jul 24, 2022!
While we first officially celebrated Mother’s and Father’s days in the early 1900s; National Parents’ Day was only established after 1994. Later President Bill Clinton signed a Congressional Resolution. Which states “recognizing, uplifting, and supporting the role of parents in bringing up their children.”
Blessed are the kids who have the support of loving parents/guardians! For me, personally my parents have been my backbone of emotional and mental support. Although, we might not always agree with each other but that has only built the relationship, love and understanding for each other stronger. Parents are the greatest gift of nature we have. There is nothing that comes close to taking their place in our lives. The role of a parent is integral in the development of a child’s life. The goal of celebrating this day is to influence responsible parenting and encourage positive reinforcement by parents for their kids. It goes both ways as this day also celebrates the sacrifices of parents. Alongside the unparalleled bond of love between parents and their children.
Yes, it’s time and day to thank those who’ve got us into this world. They have tolerated our tantrums, sacrificed their needs, wants for our needs and demands and shaped us into responsible individuals. Parenthood is a two way street, no parent is a born expert. Hence, this day is to forget and forgive if sometimes your parents didn’t maybe understand you. It’s the time to only celebrate and acknowledge how those differences grew you and your parents as a unit, as a family. Furthermore, be grateful for all the good your parent’s brought into your lives. Observe how much more beautiful your relationship grows with this gratitude.
Also, just in case you lack the right communication skills to express your love to your parents; here are some wishes, greetings, and quotes:
